Chihuahuas Win 4th Game in a Row

The El Paso Chihuahuas are on a four game winning streak after they beat the Albuquerque Isotopes 2-0 on Saturday night.

The Chihuahuas pitching was in force force as they held Albuquerque to just three hits. Starting pitcher Jesse Scholtens didn’t allow a hit until there were two outs in the seventh inning and he left after 6.2 innings having allowed just two baserunners, a single and a walk.

El Paso got its first run of the night in the bottom of the fourth inning on an RBI single by Webster Rivas, which you can see below:

The second run was scored in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI single by Taylor Kohlwey, which you can see below:

The Chihuahuas also had some great base running by Robbie Podorsky who stole two bases on Saturday and now has four stolen bases in the last two games

One of the big stories going into the game was the first MLB injury rehab appearance by Colorado Rockies pitcher Kyle Freeland. He let in one run in four innings.

The Chihuahuas will face off against the Isotopes again on Sunday afternoon at 1:05.
