All things considered, tonight’s 1-1 draw with New Mexico United seems like a good result. With 5+ minutes in stoppage time in the second half, the equalizer was scored literally, at the death, by Leandro Carrijo and assisted by 17 year old Diego Luna.
Make no mistake, one point is better than no points. But, the difference in the first half and the second half were like night and day. In the first half the Locomotive were aggressive and creating chances. The second half brought the exact opposite with the Locos on their heels for the majority of the half.
We need to see more of Diego Lina and his fire when he made his debut in the second half. It’s going to be fun watching this kid grow.
Being back at Southwest University Park and seeing what I feel was more than 70% capacity in the stands was fantastic and The 8th Notch brought it as usual.
Next match will be home to RVG Toros on Saturday May 22nd at 7:30pm.
Vamos Locos! On to the next…
